Bandy Hicks, Chief Operations Officer
I’ve had the privilege of managing the Resort for Pets since 2010, and every day continues to be an adventure. My career in animal care began in 2003, working in zoos with everything from lions and tigers to small farm animals. While my early days were spent with exotic species, my passion has always been creating meaningful connections with all animals—big and small.
At the Resort, my favorite part of the job is getting to know the unique personalities of our guests and ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved during their stay. I’m proud to work alongside a dedicated team that shares my commitment to providing exceptional care and making every pet feel like family.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy traveling, walking, exploring new industry trends, and diving into a good true crime podcast. Spending time with my family, including my grown boys, and my own pets keeps me grounded and inspired.

Des, Group Manager
Des has been an owner and manager at Resort for Pets since December 2012. With a background in banking and technology, he brings a unique perspective to his role, focusing on accounting and business development. As part of the management team, he is working to build resorts that provide quality care for our guests and ensure that our clients can enjoy their time away, worry free.
Outside of work, Des enjoys spending time with his blended family of five children, four cats, and a dog.
